Central Canteen

A restaurant designed with youthful energy has moved into the turn-of-the-century building block bordered by Kazinczy and Síp streets.

Central Canteen, in line with international trends, creates a direct, homely atmosphere that consciously counterbalances the neutral world of office environments. The nearly 300 m² space, framed by two inner courtyards, is bathed in natural light, where exposed brick walls, raw materials, and freely running mechanical elements generate an honest, characterful ambiance. Meanwhile, the functions defined by free-standing, box-like blocks merge subtly into a single flexible unit.

The dining area, organized around centrally placed benches reminiscent of family dining tables, is highlighted by the renovated colorful chairs and the various light fixtures arranged above them. One of the interior’s focal points is the striking blue block, housing the restrooms and adorned with graphics by Richárd Orosz.

Central Canteen redefines dining: it elevates the everyday meal into a contemporary yet personal communal experience.
